Fire on the Liesbeek
This picture was taken by Hans Ulrich, a waiter at The Wild Fig Restaurant, on the evening of 1 July 2012 at 20h11. Three fire tenders brought the blaze under control in short time. What started it is unclear, but there are vagrants that make fire for warmth in the area and that one likely cause.
Tractor in the river
This picture was taken on the 2 July 2012 along Liesbeek Avenue. A grass mowing tractor got to close to edge and went for a swim. I never saw how they recovered it but it was gone a few hours later.
