As we approach the end of the 2025 tax year, many businesses and individuals review their year-end giving and how it aligns with their organisational values. Friends of the Liesbeek offers a practical way to invest in urban ecosystem restoration and green jobs in Cape Town, with clear documentation and reporting to support corporate governance and on the ground engagement with a critical green corridor in the city.
There are several ways we can support your contributions to FoL:
1. Section 18A tax deductions:
FoL is registered as a Public Benefit Organisation with Section 18A approval and issue Section 18A certificates to donors for qualifying donations.
2. Corporate Social Investment:
FoL supports once-off or longer-term Corporate Social Investment (CSI) contributions tied to specific programs or priority areas along the river, with accompanying monitoring and reporting.
3. Partnerships:
We host longer-term partnerships and stewardship around specific river sections or priority projects (for example wetland rehabilitation, routine maintenance, or targeted invasive clearing).
4. ESG and impact reporting:
We provide project updates and impact summaries that include both qualitative context and measurable outputs (e.g., species planted or invasives removed, litter bags collected, volunteer participation, and engagement activities) as well as media activations so your stakeholders can see what your support enables.
5. Regular corporate engagements:
We host structured, site-based corporate team days along the Liesbeek, such as planting days, clean-ups, and invasive clearing. These can be scheduled as quarterly or bi-annual engagements, depending on your team size and availability.
If you would like to discuss supporting FoL’s work along the Liesbeek River, whether as a once-off contribution or a longer-term partnership, please contact us at [email protected].
