Observatory Junior School: River Cleaning

Nearly one hundred learners from Observatory Junior School spent the last day of their school term cleaning the river. The event was organised by the SOUL Foundation and generously sponsored by TOYOTA SA. What was especially helpful is the use of boats to retrieve the litter lying on the bottom and along the banks of the river. It was also helpful to get this material out of the river before the July rainfall. I am sure that are good of this material would have found its way onto the beaches in Table Bay had this job not being done. A great contribution. To add more spice to the fun, the children were visiting by the Mayor. Lots of excitement. Not sure where she gets the energy from but she added more spice to lives by signing each of their sponsored peak caps – much appreciated by all.
